Sound leaves memory behind. A single reverberation calls up a time and a feeling, and brings back a moment that has passed. In this way, sound stays close to one's experience. Within a single life, too, different times and memories gather. Sounds rooted in each of those moments come together to form a life. Such a sound awakens another memory in the listener, and leads them to imagine the life it came from. I shape these sounds into the form of a mountain. I often imagine climbing to a high place to listen to the sounds of the world. A small reverberation spreads into the distance, and the layered sounds fill the space. I hope the mountain becomes a place that receives them, holding the time and feeling they carry for a long while. Within Each One's Sound, scattered moments resound together.
