2026 Porcelain slip varies by work

Memories are always hazy and blunt, remaining half-hidden beneath a veil—like running your fingertips over something wrapped in clear vinyl, tracing its contours by touch alone. Whenever I feel lost or adrift from who I truly am, I reach back to pull out the childhood moments that shaped me. Holding my mother’s hand on the local bus, gathering translucent glass marbles in my small hands, counting down the days for art class, and my father holding the back of my two-wheeled bike. Through the medium of ceramics, I sought to gently preserve and anchor these fleeting, fragile moments. Using drain casting with six distinct molds, I gave shape to these vague clusters of memory. The natural marbling achieved through colored slips, paired with selective glazing, reflects the layers of memory that stack over time—and the sudden flashes of light within them. Captured and preserved in time, I hope these pieces serve as small waypoints guiding me back to myself.
