2026 D1, Ceramic pigment varies by work

This work begins with the idea that human emotions and memories are not always perceived in clear or definite forms. Even emotions that seem insignificant and quickly fade from memory, as well as feelings we are not consciously aware of, can remain within us over time and gradually form a state of being. Freud described the workings of the unconscious through the mechanisms of condensation and compression, suggesting that experiences and emotions beyond conscious awareness can still remain within us. This work gives form to these invisible traces of the mind through the accumulation of small individual forms. The organic masses that make up the work represent the collection of emotions and memories accumulated within us without our awareness. Forms reminiscent of flowers, coral, and cells express the unconscious not as something fixed, but as something with a vitality that continuously grows and transforms. Each form appears as an independent entity, yet the forms connect and overlap with one another to create a larger mass. The process of closely accumulating small ceramic fragments reflects the idea that even seemingly insignificant emotions and memories come together to form our inner world. Through this process, the work reveals an inner landscape shaped by traces of the mind that often remain unseen, inviting viewers to reflect on the emotions and memories that have accumulated within themselves.
